Graduate Engineer (September 2026 start)

Each year we recruit a number of graduates to support our core businesses in materials solutions for fusion. These role’s will support both:

1.      Technical research, analysis, and critical thought of materials engineering for fusion enterprises globally.

2.      Expanding our portfolio of patented disruptive technology, through research & development, with new ideas, and approaches in fusion materials and engineering.

The role will require teamwork, and the ability to communicate complex challenges to a range of audiences. Materials engineering and reactor design are a grand challenge for the realisation of fusion power on the grid, you will be working on problems without obvious solutions requiring tenacity, and lateral approaches to solve.

Some national and international travel will be required.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Ideally you will have some of these:

  • A strong academic background within engineering, materials science, physics or a similar STEM environment.
  • Either an early career professional or expecting to graduate soon. 
  • An ability to critically analyse and present data. 
  • An ability to communicate technical concepts. 
  • Good verbal and written communication, and presentation skills. 
  • A willingness to learn new things and to change your mind with new knowledge.

Maybe, you will have some of these:

  •  A desire to build business and strategise for the future.
  • Experience developing computational approaches (e.g. Python, CFD) to support problem solving.
  • Experience of using CAD (e.g. SolidWorks) to create technical drawings and manufacture systems, including structural analysis (FEM).
  • Experience working in a lab environment.
